MS Update — My Incredible, Productive Day

I had the most productive day today that I’ve had since a week before I went in the hospital. Maybe longer. I’m publishing what I did today not because I did anything particularly amazing, but just to show how busy I was today — and tonight, I still have energy and feel good!

7 a.m. — Got up with Christy, made her breakfast, and did dishes. Got ready for the day.
8 a.m. — Meditation and prayer
9 a.m. — Work out/PT stretches and balance stuff
10:30 a.m. — Rest, play on computer
1 pm — Counseling appointment (as a client!)
2:30 pm — Drive to Royal Oak to get hospital discharge statement from Beaumont, then back home
5 pm — Last minute tax stuff. Drive into downtown Flint to post office.
5:45 pm — Walk with cane in one hand and trash barrel in the other down the ditch in front of my house and the church, picking up trash.
6:30 — Helped Christy carry in groceries.

I’m still planning on doing dishes tonight. I totally feel up to it. I still used my cane and am still limping, but the point is having enough energy to get through a busy and productive day. So exciting. Planning on working full-time this week for the first time since before I got sick. Back in the office tomorrow. We’ll see what happens.

I am a licensed counselor in Michigan. I also teach for Spring Arbor University part-time and supervise post-grads during their 3,000 hours of required work under supervision.

Hi Dave. What you were able to accomplish today is amazing. From one MS person to another this was major stuff. Just going to the grocery store can leave me exhausted.
